The subtitle of this book sums it up nicely, "Projects and Stories Celebrating Hand-Sewing, Quilting and Embroidery for Contemporary Sustainable Style". Filled with beautiful photography and dozens of projects, this book is a fantastic way to get started embellishing or altering your clothing. For years now, author Natalie Chanin has been making a big name for herself in the fashion world from her unlikely hometown of Florence, Alabama. Her stylish combination of traditional southern needlework with contemporary couture has transformed not just contemporary fashion, but also the lives of the women she has employed to manufacture her collections- many of whom once earned their livings from the now long-gone textile factories in the area. A wonderful story, a wonderful book.

Book includes a pullout stencil, perforated postcard for bead-embroidery, and reusable patterns.

176 pages with color photos, measures 11" x 8.75" x 1".
